Writing Credits
May 3, 2008 by Jen Schile
I spent several years as a West Coast correspondent for National Fisherman magazine and have also been published in Pacific Fishing magazine.
My essay, Happy Jack and the Vis Queens, was published in the anthology Steady as She Goes—Women’s Adventures at Sea. A second essay, A Different Kind of Recovery, was published in the anthology A Matter of Choice—25 People Who Transformed Their Lives. Another essay, Saying Goodbye, won an Honorable Mention in the memoir category of the 2002 Writer’s Digest Writing Competition.
I have a degree in English from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, and a Certificate in Nonfiction Writing from University of Washington Extension.
In addition to writing regular posts for this blog, I facilitate a writing group for the Story Circle Network and continue to write and submit personal essays for publication.
